The tribal sheikh loyal to the Houthis, Sadiq Abu Shawarib, said that there are Houthi moves to seize the house of the tribal sheikh Hamir bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar, the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives and the sheikh of the Hashid tribe in the capital, Sana’a.

Abu Shawarib, one of the sheikhs of the Hashid tribe, expressed his surprise in a post on his page on the “X” platform, that the Houthi movements to demand the evacuation of Sheikh Al-Ahmar’s house located in the Sufan neighborhood, at this time, serve Israel and Netanyahu, according to him.

Shawarb held the Houthi militia in the capital, Sana'a, politically and legally responsible before the people. He called on the Houthi government, which is not internationally recognized, to "stop these measures immediately."

This Houthi measure comes days after the US Treasury announced the designation of Sheikh Hamid al-Ahmar and a number of his companies at home and abroad on the sanctions list.

It is worth noting that Sheikh Hamir al-Ahmar resides in his home in Sana’a and has not left since the Houthi coup against the state. The Hashid tribe appointed him as its leader, succeeding his brother, Sheikh Sadiq al-Ahmar, who died in a hospital in Jordan in late December 2023.
