Al-Aqsa Association in the Republic of Yemen announced on Tuesday the approval of a comprehensive relief projects package worth 1,400,000,000 Yemeni riyals (about 700 thousand dollars), allocated to support the Gaza Strip in the areas of shelter, food and medicine.

This came in response to the catastrophic humanitarian conditions experienced by the population as a result of the devastating war that lasted for more than 15 months, and the return of Gazans to their destroyed cities and homes in the northern Gaza Strip.

The association explained in a statement, a copy of which was received by "Yemeni Youth Net", that these projects come within the framework of the fraternal and humanitarian duty towards the people of Gaza, which did not stop throughout the war period that left behind widespread destruction and difficult economic and living conditions.

The package of projects includes providing urgent food aid, establishing camps to house displaced persons returning from the south to the north, in addition to purchasing prefabricated houses (caravans) to house affected families, as well as supporting health projects in light of the worsening humanitarian crisis and shortage of basic needs, according to the statement.

Al-Aqsa Society pledged to continue relief and humanitarian efforts for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, stressing that supporting Gaza is a duty for everyone who has a human conscience and a heart that believes in the justice of the Palestinian cause.

The association called on supporting institutions, bodies and all charitable people to intensify efforts to alleviate the suffering of the people of Gaza, stressing that this stage requires greater solidarity and broader cooperation to save lives and alleviate the humanitarian crisis facing the people of Gaza.

On January 19, a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between Israel and Hamas came into effect. It consists of three stages, each lasting 42 days. In the first, negotiations are underway to start the second and third, with the mediation of Qatar, Egypt and the support of the United States.

With American support, between October 7, 2023 and January 19, 2025, Israel committed genocide in Gaza, leaving more than 159,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 14,000 missing, and one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
