A field source said that the Sudanese army has taken control of the city of Al-Kamlin, the last stronghold of the Rapid Support Forces in Al-Jazeera State in central Sudan. The city of Al-Kamlin is about 65 kilometers from the capital, Khartoum.

The source added that the army advanced north and took control of a number of villages and towns. He also confirmed that the army now controls the entire state of Al-Jazeera, with the exception of what he described as some small pockets that are still under the control of the Rapid Support Forces in areas adjacent to Khartoum, such as Abu Qutah and Al-Baqir.

Al Jazeera's correspondent in Sudan, Al-Tahir Al-Mardi, reported that the Sudanese army is fighting fierce battles, especially as it approaches Khartoum, where the Rapid Support Forces, which withdrew from Wad Madani or left Al-Jazeera towards the capital, are concentrated.

He added that the army is fighting these battles from 3 axes, from east of the Nile towards east of Khartoum, in addition to south of Khartoum towards the city of Al-Kamlin, and then from the White Nile State.

He explained that the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, visited the front lines today, Tuesday, during which he said that the army was close to extending control over the Soba Bridge, linking West and East Khartoum.

He stated that the bridge is strategic for the Rapid Support Forces as it connects them from the east of the Nile to Khartoum, and enables them to move and maneuver in this area, and therefore the battles there may be very intense.

He said that controlling this bridge means tightening control over the Rapid Support Forces inside Khartoum, especially since they have large forces east of the Nile.

In North Darfur State, specifically in the city of El Fasher, the correspondent reported that there is a cautious calm after there was a repeated attack by the Rapid Support Forces.

Sudanese army soldiers broadcast pictures of Burhan, showing his arrival in the town of Wad Abu Saleh in eastern Nile, east of Khartoum, which the army had retaken in the past two days. Addressing a crowd of residents of the area, he renewed his call to continue fighting until the Rapid Support Forces were eliminated.

Also on the ground, military sources in the Sudanese army told Al Jazeera that the army imposed its control over a number of towns and villages on the eastern Nile axis, east of Khartoum.

Sources reported that the army had imposed complete control over towns and villages in the East Nile locality. Informed sources confirmed that army forces advanced northward on the White Nile State axis and were now on the outskirts of Wad al-Zaki area.

The fighting is currently concentrated on the highway linking the capital Khartoum in the north and White Nile State in the south, known as the Khartoum-Kosti road.

On the other hand, Pasha Tabiq, advisor to the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, said that the Rapid Support Forces in the East Nile axis in Khartoum State were able to repel a force from the "Sudan Shield" supporting the Sudanese army.

The Minister of Health in Khartoum State told Al Jazeera that the bombing carried out by the Rapid Support Forces on Al-No Hospital in Omdurman left 6 dead and 40 injured.

Since January 31, the Sudanese army has resumed its military operations in Al-Jazeera State (central Sudan), where it was able to control the cities of Rafaa and Tamboul in eastern Al-Jazeera, in addition to Hasahisa in the north of the state. The army also controlled the areas of Al-Alifun, Umm Dawa Ban, Al-Asaylat and other areas located in the East Nile locality in Khartoum State.

Since mid-April 2023, Sudan has been witnessing a conflict between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, which has so far resulted in the killing of more than 20,000 people and the displacement of about 14 million, according to data from the United Nations and local authorities, while other estimates indicate that the number of victims is much greater than what has been announced.
