The life of a young man in his twenties ended tragically while he was participating in a theatrical scene that dealt with social phenomena in one of the towns of Ibb Governorate (central Yemen).

Local sources said that the young man (Bashar Abdul Rahman Al-Idrisi) was killed last week in Bani Madsam district in the Ibb countryside directorate, while participating in acting with a number of his friends on social issues witnessed by the governorate under Houthi control, in a series called Sheikh Batash Village, 19 episodes of which were broadcast, for a YouTube channel called “Batash Channel.”

According to the sources, the perpetrator, called "Younes" - who was imprisoned after the incident - had received a Kalashnikov rifle after emptying the bullets from its magazine, to play the role of the killer, but a bullet that was in the firing chamber remained in its place without the team knowing.

The sources confirmed that the actor, while filming his scene, pointed the gun at the victim, "Bashar," and was surprised when the bullet was fired and hit the victim, who was killed instantly.

In recent years, many of the people of Ibb Governorate, including young people, have been active in creating visual content on YouTube to discuss the phenomena witnessed in their governorate, including the issues of the tyranny of the powerful, the looting of lands, armed clashes, and other issues that have become prevalent in the governorate since the Houthis took control of the governorate by force in the fall of 2014.

The ongoing war in the country for ten years has cast its shadow on teenagers and children who try to imitate its events in their games and visual productions on social media, and in their daily lives, as weapons of all kinds have become available to them and incidents of tampering with them have caused the death and injury of dozens in recent years.
