The directorates of the western coast of Taiz Governorate witnessed a wide protest stand, denouncing the policies of marginalization and exclusion that affected the people of the region, accusing the local authorities of confiscating their rights and excluding them from leadership, administrative and military positions.
In a statement issued by the protest, the protesters called on the political leadership, represented by the Presidential Leadership Council, to urgently intervene to end these practices and restore their legitimate rights.
A statement issued by the vigil stressed that the people of the coast, despite the sacrifices they made in the battle to defend the homeland against the Houthi militias, suffer from systematic marginalization, as they are excluded from positions in their regions, even though their directorates constitute 46% of the area of Taiz Governorate and are its strategic depth.
The statement explained that these directorates have provided hundreds of martyrs and many of their sons are still stationed on the front lines, while the authorities continue to ignore their demands and manage their areas from outside without real representation for them.
The protesters called for stopping the exclusionary decisions targeting the people of the coast, and absorbing qualified ones among them into leadership positions, in addition to granting the families of martyrs lands in Al-Mokha in honor of their sacrifices.
They also stressed the need to put an end to attacks on citizens' lands, strengthen the role of the judiciary in resolving disputes, and improve health and education services, including the establishment of a university that meets the needs of the people of the coast.
They stressed that the protests will remain open and escalating until all demands are met, warning against continued marginalization, and stressing the need to address this issue urgently to ensure justice and equality for all the people of the governorate.
