The road is witnessing heavy traffic for those entering the city of Taiz - Tawasul
The Houthi militia announced its readiness to extend the opening hours of the eastern port of Taiz city with the areas under its control in Al-Hawban throughout the day, during the holy month of Ramadan.
This came in a post published by Ahmed Amin Al-Masawi, the acting governor of Taiz in the Houthi militia authorities - which are not recognized - on the X platform, at dawn on Wednesday.
Al-Masawi said that his group's authorities are ready to extend the opening of the (Al-Hawban - Qasr Al-Shaab - Al-Kamb) road 24 hours a day during the month of Ramadan.
Observers considered the militia's announcement to be part of media propaganda and an attempt to improve its ugly image in the eyes of public opinion and the residents of the city, which is still under siege from several outlets.
In June of last year, the Houthi militia opened the eastern outlet that connects the Al-Hawban area under its control with the city of Taiz, after great international pressure, while it continues to close the rest of the outlets as part of the policy of the suffocating siege it has imposed on the city since the beginning of the war.
Since then, the road has remained open to vehicle traffic, excluding cargo trucks, during the morning only, for 12 hours a day (from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.), despite the severe congestion at the port.
