The terrorist Houthi militia in Yemen has begun preparations to launch a new season of summer camps, targeting school students intellectually and militarily, amid growing fears among residents that their children will be recruited and thrown into the battlefronts.
Local sources in Sana'a reported that the militia has intensified its efforts to attract children and adolescents through camps that will be set up in several areas under its control. The Supreme Supervisory Committee for Summer Centers has formed field committees that have been allocated financial sums to conduct surveys that include schools and neighborhoods, with the aim of attracting the largest possible number of students.
Eyewitnesses pointed to intense activity by Houthi elements in Sana'a schools and its suburbs during the past few days, coinciding with the increase in cases of children's disappearances, as more than ten cases were recorded during the past month, according to the newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat".
Parents have expressed concern that these centers will be used to train students to fight and brainwash them with the group’s sectarian ideas. Educational sources confirmed that this year, the Houthis intend to offer incentives such as cash assistance and excellent grades in final exams to attract more students. Enrollees will also receive curricula that focus on the notebooks of the militia’s founder, Hussein al-Houthi, and the speeches of its current leader, in addition to intensive military training.
This escalation coincided with a broad military mobilization campaign launched by the terrorist militia under the name "Al-Aqsa Flood" in all areas under its control, exploiting the slogan of supporting the Palestinian cause to expand the scope of its compulsory recruitment.
