Paris Saint-Germain achieved an exciting victory over Manchester City, and Real Madrid crushed its guest Salzburg with five goals in the seventh round of the Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain came from two goals down to beat Manchester City 4-2 on Wednesday evening in the seventh round of the Champions League group stage.

Manchester City's position in the Champions League play-offs has become complicated, as Pep Guardiola's team is in 25th place with 8 points, while Paris Saint-Germain is in 22nd place with 10 points.

The visitors took the lead in the 50th minute through substitute Jack Grealish, who surprised Donnarumma after he had successfully blocked two previous shots.

City added the second goal in the 53rd minute after a quick counter-attack led by Grealish to reach Erling Haaland who put it in the net.

Substitute Ousmane Dembele reduced the deficit for Paris Saint-Germain in the 56th minute.

In the 60th minute, Bradley Barcola equalized for Paris Saint-Germain against Ederson after the crossbar blocked the first shot.

And Jan Germain turned the result around in the 78th minute through Joao Neves, who dived to follow a cross from a set piece and headed it into the net.

In stoppage time, Gonzalo Ramos concluded the goal festival in the 93rd minute.

Real Madrid achieves a crushing victory

Defending champions Real Madrid also secured a crushing 5-1 win over visiting Red Bull Salzburg, with Brazilian forwards Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior scoring two goals each and Kylian Mbappe putting his stamp on the game with a goal.

Rodrygo opened the scoring in style after a Vinicius cross in the 23rd minute before doubling his side's lead with a superb strike from inside the box after a clever backheel pass from Jude Bellingham in the 34th minute.

Mbappe took advantage of a huge mistake by Salzburg goalkeeper and captain Janis Blasevich to add the third goal in the 48th minute, while Vinicius scored two goals after a great run with the ball in the 55th and 77th minutes to extend Real Madrid's lead, before Mads Bidstrup scored the only goal for the visiting team in the 85th minute.

Defending champions Real Madrid are 16th in the league after raising their tally to 12 points, and despite securing qualification to the next round, they will need to win their final match against Brest and have other results go their way to ensure they finish in the top eight and avoid a two-legged playoff.

Salzburg are in 34th place and have already been eliminated from the knockout stage, having picked up just three points from seven games.
