Tehran responds: Israeli attack on "20 sites" in Iran is not real and our defenses confronted it

An informed source denied to the Tasnim News Agency of Iran the validity of what he described as "the Israeli army's claims about targeting 20 sites inside the country," saying that this is "not true," stressing that "the number of targets was much less than that."

The source added that the Israeli attack was carried out from outside the Iranian borders, and caused limited damage.

He stressed that none of the Revolutionary Guards' military centers in Tehran were targeted.

The source pointed out that the news claiming that 100 Israeli military aircraft participated in the attack is completely false, and that Israel is seeking to exaggerate the size of its weak attack.

In the same context, Iranian media outlets reported, quoting the Iranian Air Defense, its confirmation of the success of the air defense system in confronting the Israeli retaliatory attack.

The Iranian Air Defense said: "Despite previous warnings by the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran to avoid any adventurous actions by the criminal and illegitimate Zionist regime, this fake regime attacked parts of military centers in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam, this morning in a retaliatory operation."

He stated that "while the country's integrated air defense system succeeded in intercepting and confronting this aggressive act, limited damage was caused in some places, and the dimensions of this incident are being investigated."

He called on the people to maintain solidarity and peace, by "following the news related to these events through the national media and not paying attention to the rumors of the hostile media."

These statements came in response to what was reported by Israeli and international media outlets, quoting officials and official institutions, about the success of the promised Israeli attack on Iran, at dawn today, in achieving all of its goals.

The Israeli military said the attack on Iran achieved all its goals. "We successfully attacked specific military targets," it added.
