Al Hudaydah: A soldier was killed and another was injured while pursuing a wanted person in Al Khawkhah

A security soldier was martyred and another was injured on Thursday during a security mission in the city of Al-Khokha, the temporary administrative capital of Al-Hodeidah Governorate (western Yemen).

The police forces in Al Hudaydah Governorate said, in a statement published by the local authority media, that one of its members was martyred and another was injured, while pursuing a wanted security person who resisted the security authorities.

The Director General of the Governorate Police, Brigadier General Najib Warq, said that Assistant Maher Shaaban Omar Al-Nafhani, a member of the Special Forces, was martyred, while Soldier Abdullah Al-Hamidi was injured in an armed clash while pursuing a wanted security man for the Al-Najiba Police named Ghaleb Abdullah Zuhair.

He explained that the forces succeeded in arresting the wanted person accused of theft crimes, after he attempted to resist and escape, appreciating the heroic and courageous role of the security personnel.

Brigadier General Warq expressed his sincere condolences to the family of the martyr, stressing the forces' determination to continue confronting anyone who tries to disturb the social peace and threaten the safety and stability of citizens.
