A citizen died in the prisons of the terrorist Houthi militia, in mysterious circumstances, four months after his imprisonment, following a tip-off from a Kuwaiti Shiite residing in Sana'a.

Identical sources said that a citizen from Ibb Governorate, named (Khaled Ali Muhammad Al-Idrisi), died in the Criminal Investigation Prison, which is under Houthi control in Sana’a, last Saturday, in mysterious circumstances, after more than four months of his imprisonment.

The sources explained that the Houthi militia kidnapped Al-Idrisi, who works in a furniture store in Sana'a, and detained him based on a tip from a Kuwaiti Shiite residing in Sana'a, due to a dispute with his brother who lives abroad in Saudi Arabia.

The sources indicated that the Kuwaiti, who collects donations for the Houthis in his country and visits Sana'a regularly, had a dispute with Al-Idrisi's brother and tried to blackmail him with large sums of money, but failed to blackmail him.

As a result, the Kuwaiti resorted - according to the sources - to offering financial bribes to Houthi security officials, exploiting his relationship with the militia and his financial influence, and asked them to detain the victim as a form of pressure on his expatriate brother.

The sources indicated that the victim's family obtained instructions from the Attorney General of the Houthi authorities to refer his file to the Public Prosecution or release him on bail due to the deterioration of his health condition, but those instructions were not implemented due to the financial bribes that the Kuwaiti was offering to the militia leaders in prison.

During the past weeks and months, a number of abductees and inmates died in Houthi militia prisons as a result of torture and deliberate medical neglect, according to human rights reports.
