A UN and local meeting held in the Hays district, south of Al Hudaydah Governorate, western Yemen, stressed the need to reopen the Hays-Al Jarrahi road, which has been closed by the terrorist Houthi militia for several years.

Media in the liberated Hays district reported that the city hosted a meeting on Tuesday that brought together authorities and the director of UNMHA's office in Al-Khokha to support the Hodeidah Agreement, Ms. Salwa Tawfiq, and her accompanying delegation.

He explained that the meeting discussed the ongoing violations and breaches perpetrated by the Houthi militia against liberated villages using various weapons. It also touched upon the humanitarian suffering and dire conditions of displaced persons in the district's camps, amid the ongoing violations and breaches perpetrated by the Houthi militia.

He pointed out that the attendees emphasized the need to open the Hays-Al-Jarahi road, which is considered one of the most important humanitarian outlets and connects the liberated areas with areas under militia control, where residents are suffering from tragic conditions.

It's worth noting that the Houthi militia closed the Hays-Al-Jarrahi road after government forces liberated the city of Hays in early 2018. Since then, the militia has rejected all initiatives to reopen the important road, causing significant suffering among residents and travelers.
