Minister of Information Muammar Al-Eryani condemned in the strongest terms the storming of Al-Jabali Eye Hospital in Ibb city by the terrorist Houthi militia, affiliated with Iran, and looting its contents, years after appointing a so-called "judicial guardian" over it.
Al-Eryani considered in a statement published on the X platform that this comes as "an extension of the series of systematic robbery and looting of citizens' properties and investments, and in implementation of its plan to seize the private sector, including the "healthcare" sector."
The minister said that the Houthi militia had turned Ibb governorate into a fiefdom for its members coming from Saada and Amran governorates, where they committed thousands of violations, including storming, robbery, and looting of public and private property and homes, including hospitals, universities, civil institutions, and homes of citizens and opponents of the coup.
He stressed that the organized robbery, looting and extortion carried out by the terrorist Houthi militia against the private health sector since its brutal coup against the state, led to "the bankruptcy and closure of a number of private hospitals, the departure of a number of other investors outside Yemen, a decline in the level of investment in this vital sector, the collapse of health care services, and a decline in the level of services provided to citizens."
Al-Eryani pointed out that the private sector was subjected to looting, extortion, and continuous harassment by the Houthi militia, which led to the bankruptcy of companies and traders, the displacement of national capital outside the country, and the loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs, as part of its plan to destroy the private sector and eliminate well-known commercial houses, in favor of companies and investors affiliated with it, with the aim of controlling the commercial sector and controlling the national economy.
The Yemeni minister called on the international community, the United Nations and its special envoy to take action to stop the Houthi militia's systematic exploitation of economic sectors, and to pressure it to stop targeting the private sector and turning it into an illegal financing tool for its terrorist activities, and to direct efforts towards classifying the Houthi militia as a "global terrorist organization", and to strengthen calls to freeze its assets, dry up its sources of funding, and prosecute its leaders before international courts.
