The second of its kind in a week.. Lahj police arrest a woman on charges of killing her husband

Lahj Governorate Police (southern Yemen) said that they arrested a woman accused of killing her husband, in the second incident of its kind witnessed by the governorate within a week.

The Security Media website of the Ministry of Interior said that it received a report from Lahj Police stating that the woman (G.M.M) was arrested on charges of killing her husband (G.A.A.A), 55 years old.

She added that the arrest of the accused came after an ongoing investigation and follow-up since the crime was committed last Tuesday, January 7, and that the accused confessed to killing her husband.

Lahj police stated in their report that they had detained the accused pending legal proceedings.

Last week, Lahj police announced the arrest of a girl in a similar case in Tuban District.

Yemen is witnessing a frightening increase in family murders in various governorates of the country, in one of the worst repercussions of the war that has been ongoing for ten years.
