Three children were injured by the explosion of explosive materials left behind by the terrorist Houthi militia in two separate incidents in the governorates of Hodeidah (west) and Abyan (southern Yemen).

The media of the local authority affiliated with the legitimate government said that the child (Ali Abdullah Khadiri - 13 years old) was injured on Saturday, in his feet, as a result of the explosion of a Houthi projectile buried in the Beit Maghari area, northwest of the city of Hays, south of Hodeidah.

The government media quoted a source at the medical point of the Seventh Giants Brigade in Hays as saying that the injured child was received and given first aid before being transferred to the field hospital in Al-Khokha to complete treatment, due to the presence of shrapnel still stuck in his feet.

He pointed out that many of the rural villages of Lahis, which were liberated in November 2021, are still suffering from contamination by mines and projectiles planted by the Houthi militia before its defeat, which poses a constant danger to civilians, especially children.

In Abyan Governorate (south of the country), two girls were injured in various places due to the explosion of a bomb left behind by the terrorist Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime in the village of Hisn Saeed, in the displaced persons camp, in the Shaqra district of Abyan Governorate, according to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba).

Shaqra District Police stated in a statement on Saturday that the two sisters (Iman Amin Zaher, 6 years old) and (Maryam Amin Zaher, 8 years old), displaced from Al Hudaydah Governorate, were injured while playing with the bomb without knowing its danger.

The police called on international and local organizations to intervene urgently to clear the areas affected by war remnants, and to raise community awareness about the dangers of handling these materials, to ensure the safety of citizens and reduce the recurrence of such tragic incidents.
