Two girls killed in separate incidents in Ibb Governorate

Two girls were killed in two separate suicide and drug-taking incidents in Ibb Governorate (central Yemen).

Local sources said that a 17-year-old girl (K.A.Q.) shot herself yesterday, Friday, in the College of Education neighborhood in Ibb city, for unknown reasons.

The sources reported that the girl was transferred to Al-Thawra General Hospital, but she died from her wounds.

In another incident, a 14-year-old girl died in a village in Bani Mansour in Baadan District, east of Ibb, after drinking a quantity of diluted sulfuric acid, known as “acid,” used in energy batteries.

According to local sources, the girl drank the acid by mistake, after she thought it was water, as it was in a mineral water bottle.

The sources indicated that the incident caused great sadness in the community, amid warnings of the danger of placing such deadly materials within reach of children.
