Israeli Minister: The future of Jerusalem's gates reaches Damascus... and Hamas comments

On Sunday, the Israeli Minister of Communications, Shlomo Karhi, published a controversial post on social media, referring to Israeli ambitions in Syria.
Karai, who is from the Likud party, quoted Jewish religious sayings in his post, saying, “The future of the gates of Jerusalem that light our path is to reach the gates of Damascus.”
Karai added in his post on the "X" platform, after participating with extremist settlers in storming the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, that he performed the prayer in the tunnels of the Western Wall (Buraq Wall) square, and prayed for the return of all the detainees.
During December, the Israeli occupation forces penetrated into southern Syria, and are now about 40 kilometers away from the capital, Damascus.
The Israeli occupation took advantage of the overthrow of the regime of the deposed President Bashar al-Assad to intensify its air attacks to destroy the military infrastructure in Syria and what remained of the Syrian army's facilities, in addition to expanding its occupation of the Golan.
In turn, the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas commented on Karai’s statements regarding the occupation’s aspirations to reach the gates of Damascus, stressing that they express his entity’s aggressive intentions towards the region and its peoples, and that the Arab and Islamic nation must unite to confront the occupation’s plans.
Hamas said in a statement, a copy of which was received by Arabi21, that “the terrorist minister Shlomo Karhi’s storming of the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque with dozens of extremist settlers, under the protection of the Zionist police, and his issuing of statements confirming the aspirations of his rogue entity to reach the gates of Damascus; is a confirmation of this entity’s colonial intentions and its ambitions towards Arab lands, which are translated by its continuous aggression against the countries and peoples of the region.”
She expressed her condemnation of these dangerous statements, calling at the same time on the Arab and Islamic nation, peoples, governments, forces and parties, to "unite in confronting this occupation policy, confronting the plans of the fascist occupation and its ongoing aggression, and taking effective action to stop the ongoing war of extermination against our people in the Gaza Strip."
