After a 10-year hiatus, flights resume between Al Rayyan and Cairo airports

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Faraj Al-Bahsani, launched today, Sunday, the resumption of direct flights between Al-Rayyan International Airport in the city of Mukalla, Hadhramaut Governorate, and Cairo International Airport in the Arab Republic of Egypt, after a hiatus of more than ten years.
Al-Bahsani stressed that the resumption of these flights represents an important step to enhance communication between Yemen and the Arab Republic of Egypt, praising the efforts made by the leadership of the Ministry of Transport, Yemenia Airlines, and the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology to achieve this accomplishment.
He also appreciated the fruitful cooperation with the local authority in Hadhramaut Governorate and the concerned parties, which contributed to the re-operation of this vital line, noting that this step comes to enhance air transport services and provide easy options for travelers.
The member of the Leadership Council stressed the importance of continuing these flights due to their positive impact on the movement of transportation and human and commercial communication between the two countries, appreciating the efforts of the Egyptian authorities and their great cooperation in granting the necessary permits to resume flights, praising the support and facilities provided by the Egyptian government.
For his part, Minister of Transport Dr. Abdul Salam Hamid expressed his happiness at the launch of the resumption of flights between Al Rayyan and Cairo airports, explaining that this launch is the result of joint cooperation (...), stressing that the launch will contribute to alleviating the suffering of the people of Hadhramaut.
Hamid said, "Al-Rayyan International Airport, which is the third largest airport in Yemen, is regaining its position today - after the resumption of flights between it and Cairo Airport - to a large extent, as international flights now include (Al-Rayyan Dubai - Al-Rayyan Jeddah - Al-Rayyan Cairo)."
