Hadhramaut: Yemen Shabab Net - Exclusive
Dozens of fishermen demonstrated today, Thursday, in front of the headquarters of the coalition forces at Al-Rayyan Airport in Hadramaut Governorate (eastern Yemen), to demand the cancellation of the decision to ban fishing from the Shuhair coastal coast.
Local sources told Yemen Shabab Net that dozens of fishermen carried out a foot march from the coastal city of Shuhayr, to the gate of Al-Rayyan Airport, in the city of Mukalla, the capital of Hadramaut, to denounce the decision to ban fishing, which is their only source of livelihood.
The protesters raised banners demanding that injustice be lifted against fishermen and that they be allowed to practice their fishing profession. They also chanted slogans demanding the departure of the coalition, including “No coalition after today.”
The sources reported that the Governor of Hadhramaut, Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, arrived at the place where the demonstrators gathered to listen to their demands.
It is noteworthy that the coalition forces, which are based at Al-Rayyan Airport, prevented the fishermen of the Shuhair area from engaging in any activity on the coast of the region, which is located near the Dabbah oil port, which negatively affected the lives of the fishermen and doubled their suffering.
