Yemen Youth - Follow-ups
Seminar in Marib
A youth symposium, organized by the Youth and Sports Office in Dhamar Governorate, called on Wednesday for the involvement of youth and activating their role in defending the September 26 and October 14 revolutions and protecting their national gains.
At the opening of the symposium, which was held in Ma'rib Governorate and attended by the Deputy Governor of Dhamar Fadl Al-Harbi, the Director of the Youth and Sports Office in Dhamar, Najib Al-Shagdari, explained that the symposium comes within the framework of awareness-raising activities celebrating the 62nd National Day of the glorious September 26 Revolution and the 61st anniversary of the immortal October 14 Revolution.
He stressed the importance of these seminars to instill the principles, values and goals of the September and October revolutions in the souls of young people, and to strengthen their national loyalty, enabling them to play their role in facing current challenges.
Three working papers were presented at the symposium. The first paper, presented by researcher Dhiab Al-Dabaa, dealt with the national gains achieved by the September and October Revolutions, and the role of youth in preserving those gains, most notably establishing a republican system based on social justice and equality among all classes of people, far from the class and social differences that were prevalent during the defunct Imamate era.
In the second paper, writer Hussein Al-Sufi spoke about the current challenges facing the September and October revolutions, most notably the Houthi militias’ attempt to circumvent the goals of the September revolution and reproduce the defunct Imamate regime against which the Yemenis revolted more than 60 years ago, and about the role of youth in confronting these challenges and confronting any attempts to undermine the two revolutions, their symbols, or the national gains they have achieved.
While researcher Mohammed Al-Maqdashi reviewed, in his third paper, the most prominent leaders of the September Revolution from the sons of Dhamar and their role in igniting the revolution, protecting it, and establishing the pillars of the republican system in the various stages of the national struggle.
He presented prominent Dhamar models who played important national roles in igniting the September Revolution and protecting it in the bloody events that followed, starting with Lieutenant General Hassan Al-Amri, the memory of Yemen and its great poet Abdullah Al-Bardouni, and the historian of the revolution Judge Ismail Al-Akwa, and not ending with Major General Amin Al-Waili who fought the two imams throughout his life until he was martyred while defending the revolution and the republic.
He pointed out that the sons of Dhamar and all the free people of Yemen are continuing on the path of their fathers to complete the achievement of the goals of the blessed September Revolution and are continuing their struggle in all fields of heroism and honor to protect the revolution from the danger of the Imamate ideology embodied today by the Houthi militias supported by Iran.
