English club Manchester City announced today, Thursday, the official signing of Egyptian star Omar Marmoush from German club Eintracht Frankfurt.

The English club said: "Manchester City is delighted to announce the signing of Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 25-year-old Egyptian striker's contract runs for four and a half years, meaning he will remain at the club until the summer of 2029."

City added: "Marmoush is one of the most sought-after young strikers in Europe and is capable of playing on either wing."

In turn, Marmoush expressed his happiness at joining the English champions, saying: “This is a day I will never forget. Signing with Manchester City, which is one of the best teams in the world, is an amazing feeling. I am happy and my family is very proud to be here in Manchester.”

For his part, the German club said on its website, "Eintracht Frankfurt and Manchester City have reached an agreement regarding the immediate transfer of Omar Marmoush."

Marmoush joined Frankfurt in the summer of 2023, coming from Wolfsburg on a free transfer.

But his brilliance this season, scoring 20 goals and providing 14 assists in 26 matches in various competitions, and leading Frankfurt to third place in the German league, has attracted attention and made Spanish coach Pep Guardiola's team sign him in the winter transfer market.

The 25-year-old is the second top scorer in the Bundesliga with 15 goals, one goal behind Bayern Munich's English striker Harry Kane, who is the top scorer, and has 25 goal contributions in the league (scoring 15 and providing 10 assists).
