The family of engineer Adnan Al-Harazi announced on Friday that he had begun an open hunger strike in protest against what it described as the “unfair litigation process” in his case by the Houthi militia.

His wife confirmed, in a post on social media, that Adnan is demanding fair and swift action in his case, away from procrastination or the interference of influential Houthis, stressing that "the basic demand is justice and nothing but justice."

The family explained that Adnan had previously informed them during his last visit of his intention to go on a hunger strike, and despite the family members’ attempts to dissuade him from his decision for fear of his health, he insisted on carrying out his strike in protest against what he saw as interference between the Houthi authorities.

The family affirmed its belief in divine justice and called for a quick and just solution to the case of engineer Adnan Al-Harazi, who has been kidnapped in the militia's prisons for about a year and a half.
