A court president was assaulted on Monday while he was going out to inspect a case being heard in the Radfan District of Lahj Governorate, southern Yemen.
Judicial sources said that the head of the Al-Habilin Primary Court, Judge Salah Muhammad Saif Qasim, was assaulted while he was in the Shaab Al-Faqih area behind the lower qat market in the Al-Habilin area.
The sources reported that unknown persons attacked the judge's car while he was out to inspect a civil case with a number of litigants, noting that the attack resulted in the shattering of his car's windows, without the judge being harmed.
The Al-Habileen Primary Court also confirmed, in a statement addressed to the Public Prosecutor, that the judge’s car was damaged during the inspection of the dispute site in Civil Case No. 19 of 1445 AH regarding a usurpation lawsuit between the plaintiffs, the heirs of Tama Yahya Saleh and others, against the defendants Abdulnabi Mohsen Yahya and others, on Monday morning.
The court held the security services in Radfan District responsible for the incident, demanding the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and their referral to the Public Prosecution and the Specialized Criminal Court, as the crime was a flagrant crime against a member of the judiciary.
