Why is the September 26 Revolution an inspiration for Yemenis to resist the Imamate?
Reports | 5 September, 2024 - 6:57 AM
Yemen Youth Net - Special
Every September, the spirit of freedom and the flame of revolution are rekindled in the souls of Yemenis, some of whom live under the rule of a brutal priestly militia that has taken away their dreams and their state all of a sudden.
The glorious September returns, and with it the Yemenis return more and more to their national authenticity and revolutionary spirit, as their interest and interaction increase and their celebrations and revival of the glorious September 26 Revolution expand, despite their miserable living and economic conditions.
Amidst the accumulating popular anger and revolutionary potential awaiting the right moment to explode in the face of the Imamate in its Houthi version, especially in the areas under its occupation, the Yemenis celebrate their glorious revolution without fear or dread of suppression, smuggling or force, drawing lessons from the free ancestors who rubbed the noses of the Imams in the dirt and created glory that history will not forget, by defeating the era of the Imamate and declaring the Yemeni Republic.
Today, Yemenis celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the September 26 Revolution. They have been in a battle that has been ongoing for 10 years, without despair or boredom, with the Imamate in its new form. They are all hopeful that the social and political components will rally their ranks and unite their efforts towards one goal, which is to overthrow the Imamate in its Houthi version and shatter its illusions of returning the people to the era of slavery and submission and the trinity of poverty, ignorance and disease...one goal, which is to restore the state and the republic.
accumulated anger
Political analyst Abdul Hadi Al-Azizi confirms that the great popular interaction and large gathering that has emerged this year since the first day of September and early on indicates the existence of an accumulation of popular anger towards the Houthi militia.
He added in an intervention with the "Evening Talk" program, which was broadcast by Yemen Youth Channel, on Tuesday evening, that this proves that the Houthis have made people in the areas under their control and the rest of the areas throughout the country ready to confront this militia in return for the crimes, violations and tyranny they have faced.
He pointed out that the people see that the opportunity is available today to get rid of the Houthis and that any procrastination will delay this salvation for a long time, especially with the peace proposals that are being marketed, which he said are the result of regional understandings between Iran and Saudi Arabia and aim to keep this group that has usurped the will of the Yemenis.
Al-Azazi, the politician, added that the popular interaction in the areas controlled by the Houthis with the September Revolution celebrations is also an expression of the mood of the societal and political components in those areas, who saw that the Houthis had betrayed them and were moving alone in front of international and regional actors as the sole representative of the areas they control, and because they know that the future that awaits them will be an hour longer than the current situation.
Growing awareness
For his part, journalist Mareb Al-Ward believes that the Yemeni people are now more aware of the importance of the revolution and the republican system than before, given the time difference between the revolution in 1962 and the current generations.
He added in his intervention in the program via video call that the popular awareness of the importance of the revolution and the republican system is growing and expanding because of what the Houthis are doing. Whoever did not know the Imamate, did not live it, and did not read about its crimes against the Yemeni people and land, knows that today through the practices and crimes of the Houthis, as there is hardly a Yemeni home that has not been harmed by the Imamate. Consequently, the practices and crimes carried out by the Houthis are positively reflected in building the cumulative awareness of the Yemeni people.
The writer Al-Ward stressed the importance of preserving this growing popular awareness and fortifying it through a national strategy that takes into consideration the outlets through which the Imamate infiltrated to return to power from one period to another, so that we can prevent any return of the Imamate after defeating it in this ongoing national battle.
He stressed that unless this happens, unfortunately, the cycles of conflict will continue to recur and through them the Imami families will return to power as long as they have power.
Sensing danger calls for national leadership
The Yemenis' constant and growing celebration, year after year, of the glorious September Revolution Day reflects a popular sense of a real danger, greater than ever before, threatening their republic, for fear of the return of the monarchy, the imamate, or theocratic rule, says journalist Fahd Sultan.
He added in his interview with the program that the Yemeni people now know that relying on the outside or political understandings will prolong the crisis and enable the Houthis to control them, stressing the existence of an international plan with regional participation to empower the Houthis and make it a reality in the lives of Yemenis.
To avoid this danger, journalist Fahd Sultan sees the need to form a national leadership from within and a popular resistance that is not linked to the outside.
He pointed out that this great popular momentum celebrating the republic is looking forward today to a national leadership and a purely popular resistance to rally around in confronting the Houthis and overthrowing their reactionary regime, explaining that the Houthi militia is only strong to the extent of the gaps left by the legitimate government and the current elites.
Sultan concluded by saying, "There is a broad Yemeni bloc that senses the danger of the Houthi epidemic, and a new leadership must be created from within that carries the aspirations of the Yemenis and imposes a reality on the ground."
What Fahd Sultan went to was supported by the politician "Al-Azazi", saying that you must be on the ground so that the outside world will come to support you, calling on all Yemenis throughout the country, including the components, parties and tribes, to sacrifice in order to eliminate this nightmare.
For his part, Ma'rib Al-Ward stressed the importance of having a national leadership that is willing to sacrifice, believes in the national project, and prioritizes the supreme interest of the country, to lead the people in their national battle to get rid of the hateful Imamate rule in its Houthi version.
